Little Red Wagon #204 - Back In Time!

Hi there, it's Wednesday which means it's Little Red Wagon Day.........

As it's my turn to host this weeks challenge, I thought I'd better actually post on time (for once!), so here goes.

This week I want to roll back the years and see a little 'vintage' or 'retro'!

I stumped myself with this one initially as I couldn't quite decide which route to take!

Eventually though, a little 'vintage' came through.........

Apologies for the poor lighting in this photo.......the consequence of forgetting to take a photograph of your creation til there is absolutely no natural daylight!

I'll try to get a decent shot later today.

EDIT: Done!!

Both digi's are freebies from Create With TLC and papers are an oldie but goodie from Cosmo Cricket......'Circa 1934'

Hopefully you'll get a chance to be inspired by the rest of the 'Girlfriends' and link up your own 'golden oldie' over on the Blog.

Have fun and I'll be seeing you soon,

Two Scrapbook Friends 'Around The World' Crop!

Hello and welcome to the Two Scrapbook Friends 'Around The World' Crop!

As promised the other day, the Two Scrapbook Friends (Joanne and Carolyn) together with myself and the rest of the Design Team, will be issuing a few Crafty Challenges for you this week.  You have a chance of winning one of three very cool prizes if you link up your creations over on The Blog or in The Gallery and Forum!

Sounds good huh?

So I'm here today with my challenge.

When I think of travel and the endless array of countries accessible to us in this day and age, I think 'Food'!

I admit, I'm a total 'foodie'!

Nothing pleases me more than eating good food, sampling new dishes, and the vast and varied flavours we associate with different parts of the Globe.

I do however draw the line at bugs........deep fried or otherwise!

Anyhow, this is my challenge to you.

Create something crafty.......a scrapbook page, card, altered item or whatever you please, with a particular food or drink in mind.

Think pizza, pasta and gelato from Italy.  Oriental dishes from the
Far East.  Fish and chips with a cup of tea from the good old UK or even a curry and mango lassi from India.

Mmmmm my mouth is watering already!

Having mentioned a few exotic, taste bud teasing varieties of food and drink, my scrapbook sample does in fact showcase something a little closer to home...........the totally delicious, low calorie (ahem!), good old fashioned 'Milkshake'!

Here goes:

I love the colour scheme of this new collection I picked up from the store the other day........Rough & Tumble by Carta Bella.

I set to work on the background paper with stencil and mist, and doodled wherever I felt the urge...........

My usual dose of wooden embellishment is layered in there, and also some subtle 'checkerboard stamping here and there.

Finally, a little sewing to finish things nicely.

So are you feeling inspired to go create your own taste bud teasing work of art?

Me...........I'm off to raid the fridge!

Don't forget to check out the challenges and creations from the rest of the DT as I guarantee you'll be suitably impressed.  The links to their blogs are over there in the sidebar on the left.

Also, remember to hop on over to the Two Scrapbook Blog where you can check out all the deets of important stuff you need to know.

Well that's about it from me so have a great weekend.

I'm off on Saturday for a full day of scrapping with an awesome bunch of gals.......can't wait........just have to actually pack something!

See you soon,

Little Red Wagon #203 Black, Kraft and White/Cream.

Well I almost made post was just about ready to go at 10pm last night on the actual day that this weeks Little Red Wagon Challenge went live!  Then I figured "What the heck" it's hardly worth it so I may as well wait till today to post anyhow!

There's always next week I guess.

This week however, over at Little Red Wagon........

Rosanne has issued an awesome colour challenge............Black, Kraft and either Cream or White........classy!

I thought I'd go a little rustic, distressed and male.

Here goes:

This cute little guy is a Kraftin Kimmie stamp by Cheryl Alger (Sassy Cheryl).

Papers are by Recollections from Michael's and colouring has been provided by.........wait for it.......Prismacolour Pencils!

Yep, blew the dust off those babies!

Well that's all, so why don't you go check out what the other girlfriends have been up to?

I'll be back tomorrow for the start of the Two Scrapbook Friends 'Around The World' Online Crop.

See you then,

The Real Me!

If you didn't already know, Two Scrapbook Friends changed their 'Challenge' process a little while ago and made it a whole lot easier for you to participate and be in with a chance of winning a gift certificate to the if it could get any better!

A Crafty Challenge and a Sketch Challenge are posted over on the blog every month and all you have to do is link up your creation there.

This months 'Sketch Challenge' is hosted by yours truly (ahem) and will be ending shortly.  If you'd like to take part you can check out the details from my post here.

I also decided to join in with Shelby's Crafty Challenge for this month.  The deal is to scrap yourself (check it out here).

Oh well.......if you insist I turn the spotlight on myself, here goes!

The Real Me.

A fairly eclectic page I'd say!

I love this paper line from Fancy Pants Designs.......great colour combo.

There's plenty of layered fussy cutting on this one.........

And even more layers of Washi tape.........

And the rest is a mix of ink splatters, eyelets and various quotation stamps...........

It could be another five years before I scrap myself again, so I guess I'll make the most of this one for a while!

Have a great weekend and I'll see you next week,

Little Red Wagon #202 Frame It!

OK, so it's Regan's turn hosting the challenge this week over at ..........

and she'd like to see a frame on your project.

Done, and it's CAS all the way for this girl!

Here goes:

I did finally use one of the Crate Paper fabric frames I've been hoarding, since my girlfriend bought them for me quite a while ago........thanks Carola!

Digi is from Saturated Canary and coloured with Copic's.

I tried a slightly darker skin tone and I'm still trying to decide if she looks as though she has a slight sunburn!

Oh well, we live and learn.

Feel free to join in with this weeks challenge over on the blog, and don't forget to check out the creations from the rest of the girlfriends.

That's it from me, see you soon,

Little Red Wagon #201 Back To School

Hello, here I am almost a week late for a change as I didn't quite make my deadline (as usual!) for Wednesday's Little Red Wagon challenge.......duh!

I feel like I'm constantly chasing my tail these days, what with trying to settle into our school routine this last week, the continuing saga of house training a puppy, then throw into the mix my in-laws arriving mid week on a jet plane from the UK.........just the usual stuff!

Anyhow, this weeks challenge over at Little Red Wagon.......

was issued by Tammy and has a Back To School theme

I thought as school Picture Day is fast approaching, it was about time I finished scrapping last years photo's, so today's offering is a layout showcasing my youngest daughter's portrait.

Papers are last years school collection from Authentique and I quite like the splashes of yellow in there.

I used plenty of stickers from the co-ordinating sticker sheet...........

and lots of stuff from my stash - trim, brads, stamps etc.

That's all for now but I'll be back on Wednesday I hope, for this weeks challenge.  You still have a couple more days to join us this week if you wish.

Enjoy the rest of your day and our impending spell of humidity apparently!
See you soon,
